Using a production warrant, Ludhiana police bring mobster Lawrence Bishnoi in.

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was carried out of the Bathinda jail by the neighbourhood police today pursuant to a production warrant.In addition, Bishnoi was the driving force behind the murder of Punjabi musician Sidhu Moosewala. Bishnoi was kept in police custody by the court until October 12.

The gangster was arrested on February 9, 2017, at the home of cable operator Harwinder Singh Bittu in Harkrishan Vihar, Meharban, pursuant to a production warrant.Bishnoi was shown in court under heavy protection. The procession of police cars arrived at the court under the direction of SP (Operations) Sameer Verma and CIA in-charge Inspector Beant Juneja.

The murder of the cable operator, according to the authorities, had been an open investigation for many years. A recent complaint claimed that the dead had been the victim of extortion calls from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang members, and that when he refused to pay, he was killed. Following this, the police identified Bishnoi as the main suspect in the murder investigation and arrested him on a production warrant so they could question him.

The police added that Bishnoi will be questioned regarding the individuals responsible for the cable operator’s murder as well as whether or not the weapons used in the crime were also planned by him.
